Theatre discussion: Diptyk

How is death depicted in Western art? What is a good death?

Join our theatre talk before tonight’s performance of Diptyk on Friday 28.3! We will discuss the culture of death in Finland with Minna Lund, director and scriptwriter, and Ada Koistinen, nurse and death doula. The discussion will focus on why Lund wanted to make a show on this theme, and the importance of discussing death more openly in our society. Both the artistic and the concrete process of a good death are opened up in the discussion. Ada Koistinen will also talk about what it means to be a death doula, a relatively new profession in Finland.
After the performance, you will have the opportunity to see the performance Diptyk (if tickets are available). Admission to the theatre talk is free, but the performance requires a ticket.
Theatre Viirus theatre pedagogue Marja Vuori will act as moderator. The discussion will start at 17.30 (one hour before the performance) and the language of the discussion will be Finnish according to the speakers. Questions can also be asked in Swedish and English.
