CITY MIRAGE: Where we don’t see

City Mirage is performing at Viirus’ amphitheater during The Night of the Arts,
August 23 at 21:00.

City Mirage is a trans-border artistic group, performing live with improvisations, videos, sound, music, words and performance. Different urban spaces in an Asian landscape, stopped surfaces where a movement suddenly grows visible, words about people in motion, sounds, tones building up a space – here they create a world through the moments meeting in their joint performance.

The video sequences in Where we don’t see are about different versions of the self that rotate and travel through time. The sequences, filmed in an urban atmosphere, in Asia, also feature different performances by local artists, on site, where people come down to the harbour at a dying river at dusk, to dance and remember.

– Sounds give us an insight into a place and opens up different dimensions of time and space, that guides and shapes our interpretation. The video, constitutes a visual framework for a live improvisation, the various performers give impulses to each other, which together convey an interpretation, movement, and form a common narrative. The group forming together a continuous process, thus every performance will be different and a unique experience, for the group and for the audience.
