–You lied to us. You gave us false hope. You told us that the future was something to look forward to.
–Yeah, well, history is gonna change.
Anton Chekhov’s classic play Three Sisters (1901) portrays the life of three siblings below the age of thirty in the suffocating stillness of a small town. Back To The Future (Robert Zemeckis, 1985) is possibly the most well-known movie about time travelling.
MOSKOVA (2022) is its creators’ experience of the impossibility of living in this day and age, the shared past that keeps on morphing, and the stage of all that’s possible.
The first public performance of the MOSKOVA, created by three freshly graduated actors Eric Barco, Hilma Kotkaniemi and Oksana Lommi, dramaturge-director Pauli Patinen, light- and video designer Titus Torniainen and sound designer Riku Vuorensola, will premiere in Studio 1 of the Viirus Theatre on 5.3.2022.
–What about all that talk about screwing up future events, the space-time continuum?
–Well, I figured, what the hell.
