A cross-art collision based on Büchners classic play Woyzeck.

Nuclear family, filicide, happiness and rough reality checks

Theatre Viirus performance Woyzeckmaterial is not what you would call a classic play. It will probably never become one either. The ambition, on the other hand, is to make a footprint and an impression, here and now. In the arts there is no point trying to exceed what has been done; everything is said, everything is done, everything is experienced.

The cat is dead, the shit is thrown, the statements have been made.

The thing we want to offer you is reality and by that we mean an honest attempt to tell a story. This attempt however is doomed to fail. We know how Woyzecks story ends and we think we know how our own story will end. So meanwhile we can fill our lives with music, dance, humor and YouTube clips.

It’s personal, political, nasty and nice.

Artist and Professor Teemu Mäki is known for his extreme and provocative artwork. Together with choreographer Arja Tiili they continue in this straight-forward manner. The focus points in this performance are power structures, helplessness, boundaries and the crossing of them.
